About Us
THE LOUISIANA POVERTY INITIATIVE will be dedicated to study the root causes of poverty and its damaging effects on the people of Louisiana and the Mid-South Delta Region. The collaborative effort will bridge research, practice, and policy by developing evidence-based models for decreasing poverty with both local and national applications. We are committed to fight the devastating effects of poverty through our collaborative endeavors.
We challenge you to join in our efforts as we seek answers to stop and decrease the widening gap between the rich and poor. Inequalities of wealth and income in our communities affect us all. Poverty is an unnatural cause of many ills that can be prevented. We invite you to use this resource and to become actively involved with us.
